The characters

The Bennet’s
Mr. Bennet
Mr. Bennet is a well-educated man, but it seems like he has choosen wrong in his marriage. He doesn’t care that much about getting his daughters married, as his wife does. Mr. Bennet is a good-hearted, kind and smart man, but he likes Lizzi (Elizabeth) better than his other daughters. This is a problem for the four other girls in the Bennet family. 
Mrs. Bennet
Mrs. Bennet is a selfish and frivolous lady who only cares about talking gossip and getting her five daughters married. She knows everything best and are not afraid to tell other people what she thinks about them. Elizabeth and Jane are embarrassed of their mother. 
Jane Bennet
Jane Bennet is the oldest of the five girls in the Bennet family. She is a beautiful, good-hearted and sweet girl who only thinks well about other people. Jane has a good and peaceful soul and are quit to defend the people she cares about when other talks bad about them. Jane and Elizabeth care a lot about each other and are like best friends.
Elizabeth Bennet
Elizabeth Bennet is the main-character in the book. She is smart, lovely and attractive. Elizabeth, who is also nicknamed Lizzy, is the second oldest girl in the Bennet family. She thinks she is analysing other people well, but is very often mistaken. Her first impression about Mr. Darcy is that he was an arrogant and very pride, rich man. Her analyse was wrong, and she fall in love with him. Elizabeth places little value on money and social position. This makes her totally different from her mother. Lizzy and Jane have other value in life, and Elizabeth is very good to choose between right and wrong in life.  


Mary Bennet
Mary Bennet is the middle child in the Bennet family. She is a quiet and plain looking girl who likes to play the piano and read books. Mary also likes to teach morality.  
Catherine Bennet
Catherine Bennet, who is also nicknamed Kitty, is the second youngest of the Bennet sisters. She follows her little sister, Lydia, and are starting to be a shadow of her.
Lydia Bennet
Lydia Bennet is the youngest girl in the Bennet family. She is her mother’s favourite. Lydia is a flirty girl who never has had to deal with consequences of her action. She is marrying Mr. Wickham and is very pride of the marriage.

The Bingley’s
Mr. Bingley
Mr. Bingley is the brother of Caroline Bingley and Mrs. Hurst. He is Darcy’s best friend. Mr. Bingley is down to earth and doesn’t put much attention on social positions. He falls in love with Jane Bennet and wants to marry her. His sisters are not that happy about his choice.  
Louisa Hurst
Mrs. Hurst is Mr. Bingley’s sister. She is very pride of being married to Mr. Hurst. Mrs. Hurst cares much about social status and doesn’t like the Bennet family.
Caroline Bingley
Caroline Bingley is a very pride and arrogant lady. She can’t stand Elizabeth Bennet or any other of the Bennet’s sisters. Caroline want’s Mr. Darcy for herself. She is talking gossip and can’t stand Mrs. Bennet.

Mr. Collins
Mr. Collins is Mr. Bennet’s cousin. He adores Elizabeth Bennet, but she doesn’t accept his hand. Mr. Collins is going to inheritance his cousin’s house. His patroness is Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Mr. Collins askes Charlotte Lucas to marry him.  

The Darcy’s
Mr. Darcy
Mr. Darcy is Mr. Bingley’s best friend, brother of Georgiana and nephew of Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Mr. Darcy is very wealthy. He has an extreme class-consciousness that makes him appear very vain and proud. Mr. Darcy finds Elizabeth Bennet very attractive, and even ideal, but he is clumsy in expression his feelings for her. Elizabeth doesn’t like his pride and arrogant behaviour. She makes him open his eyes and learns to see people for who they are- not depending of witch class they were born into.  Underneath his arrogant and pride attitude, he is a romantic and carful man.

Georgiana Darcy
Georgiana Darcy is Mr. Darcy’s younger sister. She is a shy and good-spirit girl. Elizabeth Bennet and Georgiana become good friends when they finally meet. Poor Georgiana has a bad and scandalous history with Mr. Wickham. 
Lady Catherine de Bourgh
Lady Catherine de Bourgh is an arrogant, pride and domineering lady who can’t tolerate anyone from the middle class.  She want’s Mr. Darcy to marry her daughter.
Ann de Bourgh
Ann de Bourgh is a sickly young woman. Her mother, Lady Catherine de Bourgh, intends Mr. Darcy to marry her.
Colonel Fitzwilliam
Colonel Fitzwilliam is Mr. Darcy’s cousin and Georgianas guardian. He is a good and kind man.

The Gardiner’s
Mr. Gardiner
Mr. Gardiner is Mrs. Bennet’s brother He is a successful man who is warm-hearted and kind. He is different from his sister and does not pay much attention to different social positions. 
Mrs. Gardiner
Mrs. Gardiner is Mrs. Bennet’s sister-in-law. She is a kind, intelligent and caring lady. Mrs. Gardiner is very caring for Elizabeth. 

Colonel Foster
Colonel Foster is the leader of Mr. Wickham’s regiment. He arranges a lot of parties and wants everyone to have a good time.

Mrs. Philips
Mrs. Philips is Mrs. Bennets silly sister. She gossip even more then Mrs. Bennet herself.          

Charlotte Lucas
Charlotte Lucas is one of Elizabeth’s best friends. She is quiet and can’t make up her mind. Charlotte is marrying Mr. Collins. Not for love, but for secure. 

Mr. Wickham
Mr. Wickham is an officer in the local military regime. He appears like a kind and careful man, but he is not. Mr. Wickham is a liar, hypocrite and an opportunist. He doesn’t care about the reputation of the young girls, so he is very selfish.  Mr. Wickham likes Elizabeth Bennet and changes her mind about Mr. Darcy so that she thinks badly about him and likes Mr. Wickham. He creates untrue stories about Mr. Darcy. When Elizabeth discovers that he has lied, she adores Mr. Darcy even more.
